The athletic program is an integral part of the Bishop Maginn High School experience. Our sports teams are among the most competitive in the Capital District area. Bishop Maginn is a member of the Big Ten Athletic Conference in all sports except football. Football divisions are aligned by sectional classification. We are members of Section 2 and the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.
The purpose of the Bishop Maginn Athletic Program is:
- To provide supervised and structured athletic competition while building character and good citizenship.
- To provide opportunities to learn techniques and improve skills that will enhance the student-athlete's ability level.
- To develop positive attitudes, pride, self-confidence, respect and discipline.
- To provide opportunities for our student-athletes to become role models for younger students.
